I started a Diary of my iPAD experience and took the decision to share it on my blog, and the diary took its own path and decided it had to be written in English. It was clear from the very beginning it would not flow in Spanish, it simply was not natural. Since it is not my native language it will never be perfect but it would be spontaneous and authentic.
iPad Incomplete Diary January (12)
As much as I like my iPad I begin to be a little tired of the way in which you cannot have simultaneous windows while you wait some things like my FlipBoard content or my Tt and Bloomberg information , while this happens I think iPad should be a less lazy friend to do several tasks at the same time, In the era of Multidimensional Social networks we need to be Multipantallas no doubt and no excuse for next releases.
I also had been called by a headhunter to possibly form part of another board this time a French company in Paris so unstaffed analyzing the company reading all hat I coils from its web site and googling their board members to understand my interest and my possible contribution to that board and looking at Market Caps of them.
So the iPad was used on those hours when I was felling less miserable. Mind you is the first ever flue that knocks me down on bed. Updating my FlipBoard kept me informed, despite the strong will to be informed, I did not feel like testing or writing on my blog at all. It was on those days when I wanted and needed to save some windows on the web and maybe another page of additional site space could become handy and be of good use. I also missed tthe visit of Daniel from Chicago one of the winners of our start-up contest the Big Bang Challengence I was still in bed but inmortalized by my team 
I spent some time including more applications on Flipboard and looking at some of the picture posted of some of the favorite actors and writers some samples. Caine, Newman, Redford, Poitier and Camus and of course also a woman Giulietta Masina la Strada
The IPad has not a good design for simultaneous usability purpss, to have limitations , meaning not to have the possibility of many open screens at the same time , for instance because you are studying a subject and you want to go from one site to another with more than nine opened at once.
So that my 12th idea for the next iPad design is to be able to open and keep opened more than nine sites simultaneously as well as having many windows opened on any application not just websites simultaneously
iPad Incomplete Diary January (11)
I started the year after the family and post Christmas celebrations ended with the wrong foot it seems. Why? you ask, well because I was finally caught by the swine flu that has knocked me down in bed for over a week. Christmas holidays and the festivities of the holy kings have gone buy and I got the swine flu, so lots of fever and lots of coughing and pain in the throat.
So what happened since then with the iPad, I have used it intensively for notes, and got hooked on a game for the first time in my life, you guessed it right, yes yes it is the angry birds during 5 days induced by my brother in law from France, we would both stay up late playing to kill green pigs by angry birds, and did not stop until I finished the holydays angry birds challenge. Many hours of not wanting to do anything not even read and many hours of sleep and lots of medicine, so my iPad was also on a retrieval mode , however it was an outmost companion, because the only thing I wanted to do was to play the angry birds as you know. So those days of bed company from my iPad the angry birds holydays game compulsive playing (in other words I became another angry birds hooked internaut) took me from level one up to finishing up the third level and going back to step one again to improve my score on the ones were the punctuation had been an only star.
I used my iPad to keep connected to ideas4all, to update my email and answer my team on the various pending decisions and projects and it was very useful, I uses it tin read further some notes for the book of Nobel prize Mario Vargas Llosa because we have a books and film group and in the next session I was the responsible member that had to re read speak and comment on La tia Julia y el escribidor which I had read over 15 or more years back. I must say it fascinated me again and the story of the radiotheatre. El radioteatro as he calls the radionovelas and the attraction of the masses to them even more if the subject matter was very absurd because life is more absurd than fiction attraction that also happened some years later to his writing the novel, which also occurred with television age and the surge of reality shows era, in all cases the radioteatro characteristics which he very well depicted in la tia Julia.
The blurring of the limits between reality and fiction reminds me although at different levels of what's happening between real and digital life, a duality where the limits will soon fall down. I also believe that anonymity will no longer be needed and that Mark Zuckerberg saw it early on his facebook project, more and more people are letting their pseudonymous and avatars fall down to unmask their real self and identities
A friend from twitter told me how to change letters and misspellings within words, it’s done with the famous magnifying glass a hidden lupa that iPad has. You seriously need to be Sherlock Holmes to get it, again it was not intuitive if you think I needed someone to point that out to me. It’s no good to be a newcomer to the Apple world, and feel so stupid because I do not have an iphone where others learnt how to correct and edit with the lupa, now that I know how it works it is great.
Found another limitation with notes it does not admit you copy any image on them, could the next version permit that functionality and that is my 11th @idea suggestion for next iPad versions
I went to Bernoffs talk Wednesday the 12th of January in Telefonica and used my iPad to prepare for it and went over summaries of Groundswell (marejada o mar de fondo) which I had read when I met Charlene Li in my trip to the US 3 years back, and read reviews of his heroes and empowerment, he has introduced some changes in the previous ladders to include the importance of conversations, I asked him a question on teaching others in the social networks with my iPad in hand and according to some friends in the audience it was very powerful and impressive duo, me and my iPad. I had to go straight to bed afterwards with fever again.
iPad Incomplete Diary December (10)
I went to Brazil twice this month and did not take but my iPad to the meetings and my laptop for presenting power points conferences, next year I will learn to use Keynote and magical remote iPad wireless presenting to be like the @Pruseland CEO. I also took my Moleskine but only for my drawings, I did several from the hotel window looking towards the sea in Florianopolis
I wrote interesting notes on Santos Dumont and the 14Bis Brazil World Cup and Olympics projects projections, the Sapiens technological and scientific park, the Institute Stela and its great semantic researchers web data base, the University, the Conference on innovation bonds between Spain and Brazil and knowledge Engineering, as well as some notes on companies visited like Grupo Positivo fantastic educational table technological tools taking place, Totvs, Santander bank, innovation circle, MVS. The Brazilians are great hosts. We could manage speaking our languages Spanish and Portuguese and be understood, it was preferred over English
I travelled to 5 cities, Curitiba, Joinville, Florianopolis, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro during the 2 trips altogether. In Brazil lots of people are using iPads as well. it is amazing full of energy and exploding like a volcano full of fire and energy to build a great country. Florianópolis on my Mileskine
The most important is that in between the 2 trips my friend Miguel Angel Pesquera showed me the best Application in town, in the world FlipBoard. No wonder it has received prizes and honors. From Apple the APPLICATION OF THE YEAR
I have since then added 7 content features, facebook, twitter, my tweets, public Sector from my lists, inside FlipBoard, FlipTech which I like very much because it really is a good summary of what is happening as well as FlipPhotos and FlipStyle

My 10th idea at the time was for the developers of FlipBoard for iPad to introduce Google reader to the Flip Board application now out-dated because it was announced on the 16th of December as done but I was not aware until end December.
I think the video explaining functionalities of the App is a good one why not watch it, better than me describing FlipBoard

iPad Incomplete Diary December (9)
Aha and yes you are absolutely wrong if you are at this point thinking this poor creature that uses so little the iPad capabilities... , even though I think this is like a gourmand trip where you have to savor every bite and slowly to enjoy it more. But yes I am doing of course many more things on my iPad that what you can imagine from my incomplete diary.
I have already done various presentations of @ideas4all project to potential investors, on PPT, I have done presentations with my ipad at some working lunches to potential customers as well, for instance to the CEO of an Important retail listed Dutch bank.
I have seen the CEO of a Spanish company Prusland, @jose_nevado present passing pages of his presentation at a conference I gave on Open Innovation and idea Generation Democratization, from the stage with no wires, like a magician and said to myself I want to do that also, someone mentioned you need to have Keynotes, What is keynotes, oh yes we forgot you are not an Apple gal and they told me it’s a must.
Of course I have kept drawing on the iPad and Adobe ideas app, and also found other fun ones like TypeDrawing and AnimationHD and I have started practicing.
Anyway, the reason I woke up this morning to write this post is to talk about the fall of my @Moleskine ® (mol-a-skeen'-a) a legendary top quality notebook originally produced by French classic Bookbinder family, a brand which I have used over 15 years to take notes for business, I started using them after I decided to quit using the yearly agendas because the space for dates were not flexible enough and I could not work with fixed spaces for my business days, and no I did not get used to writing notes on my laptops, don’t ask me why.

So yes the Moleskine replacement has being a traumatic process, is like when you say goodbye to a friend that leaves to a remote country and you know you won’t see him anymore, well I have been alternating both, in some meetings took notes on the Moleskine and other meetings with the iPads notes, but at the end the @iPads’ notes application despite its limitations won the race, without me knowing there was any race going on, but yes my brain and my hands were telling me come on Ana make the definite switch, and slowly but surely it has happened. Oh yes, they both fitted perfectly on my purses, they are all large enough.
It is not a full death however because I will still use Moleskine as travel journals and for my drawings, I just love their ribbon boomarker and the rubber band to close them which preserves the corners from bending, but will not use anymore for business or personal notes. Yes yes you got it Moleskine is the legendary notebook used by so many painters, travelers, writer, thinkers, and war journalists Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Chatwin, Wilde, Hemingway, Breton. Hemingway apparently wrote “A moveable feast” and “the Sun also rises” on his Moleskine surrounded by and enjoying the ambiance of French cafés.
And you can now guess what is my 9th @idea for Steve Jobs, and this time is a personal recommendation to him: A hybrid between iPad notes and Moleskine to have the same feeling, and can we do it so that is a touch screen experience even if it has to have a special pointer to emulate a pen on the iPad screen, I would love that and many other people too.

iPad Incomplete Diary November (8)
I am preparing a trip to Brazil for next week, i.e. the last days of November and first days of December, is a business trip and I want to take the iPad covered, I do have a neoprene protection bag, but it is not enough and to hold it sometimes makes my hand sleepy, because it it’s a little heavy for that.
So I entered on the web and tried to see what was available, of all the covers offered, although its true is not the most original fun design one, the apple official one was the more beautiful one.
Not only is it the most beautiful one but also the most practical one because you can convert it in almost an easel because it has the best structure and architecture for visualization positions vertical, horizontal and tilted. But the special texture makes it so pleasurable to touch. (Pictures from Apple store)
I must say it is also one of the most expensive ones, it costs 40€, but is a cadeaux you give to yourself worth the money in my opinion. I ordered it form the store and received it in less than a week in Madrid.
My twin sister got her iPad earlier than me and she says it could be a little dirty if you use it anywhere and while eating sometimes as she does, but she discovered that you take it out and wash it carefully with a soft soap and it cleans perfectly when dry, so here is a value added feature that is not advertised

iPad Incomplete Diary November (7)
I believe there are very limited editing facilities in the iPad note. Another in my opinion serious problem and this occurs for both Spanish and English is the impossibility (maybe is my ignorance) of being able to edit a word within the word for Notes. I will explain: it is not possible to chose the letter you want to substitute within the word i.e. it is impossible for me to signal/mark a letter placing the finger in the middle of a word I have only been able to do this either at the beginning or at the end of the word. So in order to achieve my objective for editing I have only one way which is to erase from right to left all the letters necessary for the specific needed correction/editing.
Also not having this functionality which would be specially useful when you have typed two words together and want to separate them, my experiene is that for most of the time the select step followed by the replace step functions does not identify the words to be replaced by and a mesage appears telling you "no replacement found".
I suggest you try typing dontknow and see what happens when you try to replace, you see what I mean and I believe it’s easy to know they are 2 separate English words at least my Gmail editor identifies this and suggests correction.
The English substitute words base dictionary is not very intelligent either for instance if you write leat when you mean to type least, and you try to correct and replace with suggested words the alternatives presented are elate eat and lat which are not the best I understand eat and lat but I would have presented least rather presenting elate, what do you think? In any case to get to the replace instruction you need 2 steps couldn’t we have it in the first step select, select all, replace and or copy all on the same string of instructions, it would flow faster and would be friendlier
Despite all this I must say I write faster with the iPad keyboard and commit less errors due to the adjusted size for my fingers than with other keyboards, even that of my own laptop.
iPad Incomplete Diary November (6)
I have been wrong twice, in the past weeks, due to two misunderstandings one believing the iPad writing keyboard had no accents and the other one that Adobe ideas free version had only 4 colors color functionalities, the problem I believe was not only mine but has to do with the design for both of them not being intuitive enough for a first timer. And let me explain what I mean.
While I was trying to write documents with the notes in my iPad, I detected some problems in English but serious problems in Spanish with the keyboard because I believed it had no accent and there are at least 20% of Spanish words that need an accent. At the beginning I fixed my problem via substitutions on the whole word by the accented one, until today I mentioned this problem to a friend and he told me no, no you have to press the key for more time and the accented possibilities appear on the letters on your keyboard. Well I did it and there they were, but you need a friend, it is not intuitive, so for me the functionality is not clear at all. I think you need a flag on the keyboard, the same as the world icon for the different languages, and that is my 6th @idea for the next iPad version. For those users accustomed to using an iPhone this is OK because they go straight and do it, for the rest of beginners like me it is not so obvious.
I don’t know whether this difficulty has been previously reported, but I do so here.
The process I had to follow before finding the way was cumbersome: you write the word then you select then you are presented with an alternative sometimes the accented word is there but sometimes it is not there, for instance the future of espero that needs an accent cannot be accented. Hence I would have to save the documents in word to do final editing of documents when I could and should have been able to send it a is with my notes from iPad.
So that you do not need to go through the same problem for some days as I did, here is the way: You just press the key of the letter you want to find the right accent a little longer and several accented possibilities of the letter appear, then you slide your finger slowly until you place your finger in the accented mode you need and press slightly. It is not easy it needs a little practice because the accent escapes sometimes.
With all this, I felt like an idiot, but I figured it was not so bad after all when another friend who is a techie pro told me you cannot write in Spanish with the iPad because he had not realized that you can change the keyboard mode for different languages using a little world symbol key which is the second to the left on your notes keyboard for instance, so that’s life, an everyday learning experience.
The second misunderstanding is that adobe ideas has only 4 colors, my reasoning made it adequate because I thought aha it is because I have the free mode and to have more colors I will need to upgrade, but no I was wrong, it has a palette but if you are not a keen observer and have never used a drawing/painting application before, you will not find out until some time has passed like me.
Of course Adobe ideas has a palette where to chose form or invent any color combination you want. Nonetheless I finished all my animal drawings for my nephew for the time being with the 4 original simplified palette

iPad Incomplete Diary November (5)
I just came back from Paris and after the ideas post, I wanted to explore more of it, more on this application in which President Obama was signing autographs to his fans and that was in my previous diary post experience with over 300.000 You Tube views.
I found the app for free on the iPad store and I downloaded it. Wow it was great, especially for me because I like to draw very much.
Well I started by drawing Kiki, Kiki is Alex's favorite black cat. Kiki lives in Notre Damme Cathedral Gardens. Alex is my youngest nephew, who was born and lives in Paris and is 21 months old.
The only problem I see with this application is that I can only use 4 colors, but nonetheless for the rest it is fine
So let’s share Kiki and 4 other animals, the elephant, the camel, the cow and thee little cheese eating mouse that I drew today with Adobe ideas
I felt so good with the user-friendly app results, that I sent the drawings immediately via the email application facility that adobe ideas has, its sent within a top quality pdf, however for introducing on the Blog I prefer to take a picture of the screen, something I learnt to do on my iPad this week and which I found very convenient.
You have to click at the same time the on button at the bottom, at the base of the iPad, as well as on the switch off switch; and there you are. You again press the on button at the bottom of the base and look for photos on your iPad, which has a sunflower (Girasol) icon, and there they are all the photos of the screen you have taken. I think this is a great feature.
My 5th tripple @idea for improvement is a better app for iPad Adobe ideas new versions with more colors, not just 4 colors and include dates and the possibility to save in classification folders those notes

iPad Incomplete Diary October (4)
Today has been the day to watch videos on my iPad, I wanted to see the top 10 on YouTube, it has been a complex and incredible experience, I think I had tried this two years ago on my laptop and it was simpler to find and with no shocking results. Then it was the evolution dance and one of biting baby maybe if my memory does not fail and I do not think anyone of them reached the 100 million views. What has changed then in 2010, the importance of music, surprise and humor in our lives is also reflected in these rankings
Musical hits videos now occupy 59% of the ranking, but it was tremendous to see how from the top 10, 4 of them could be considered politically incorrect where women and men are portrayed as object of desire and violence, where women and adolescent girls are apologetic on genre abuse and love suffering, there was one video that explicitly says I like the way you lie and the way you make me suffer... It saddened me enormously thinking that all WOMEN'S rights fights have been lost in translation. I am not going even to mention their names because some of them are really well known and I don’t want to advertise them further, not being in agreement with what I saw, some have great music but when you listen carefully and understand the lyric you say, it can’t be true, but it is true and sad.
However there were some which were simply humorous watching like a baby biting his brother and another one where parents presumably make his baby laugh and laugh... until he almost cries, I did not quite know how to interpret it, fortunately we had the Canadian idol Justin Bieber baby ft Ludacris and Shakira Waku Waku for the World Cup compensate with a passionate energetic more positive portrait of youth, more refreshing, which certainly gave me some hope.
Oh yes I know what you are thinking that’s easy to find the most viewed or the top tanked videos on You Tube , well no it is not that simple, never you get the right list no matter what you try, try it you won’t like it , like me, so finally I Googled for the top ten ever on You Tube and found a list at readwriteweb, where the top ranked was for Bieber, number one with over 400 Millions and the number 10 position was for the Hahaha baby close to 140 million, not bad of course.
I then decided to explore on my iPad the top 10 videos on ideas and guess what, some more surprises awaited me, the most viewed ideas’ videos were “the how to do cakes” ones many of them with over 300.000 visits each, there was one for a train cake, jeans, car, duckling, dinosaurs cakes amazing isn’t it, but true ... and the Queen of queens was the How to make a princess doll birthday cake with 4, 5 million views.
The cake ones were followed by the Halloween and costume videos… So after clearing all these ideas’ videos which were not so relevant for my search I chose the following videos on ideas for you and me. O course I have not resisted the temptation to include the ideas4all company video, I see that by having our own sourced video we have little visits, we need to change that to have the You Tube version in order to start counting there all visits. If you are a good observer you would have noticed despite writing this post in October I am completing the images in January 2011.

4th @idea for next iPad version, please improve navigation app for You Tube is cumbersome and it has not all functionalities for search in terms of relevance, dates, ranking, rating, most viewed, most commented, I think these would be great functionalities to have. Its true though that You Tube is not good either it is very hard to get real rankings and lists, I guess is part of the strategy, but is very chaotic when you want to search for rankings and rating of a specific subject matter like ideas.

Next day, I woke up earlier than expected with the objective to synchronize iPad and Google calendar, contact list, not easy I must tell you. I wanted to synch the ideas4all calendar and introduce my contact list.

No instructions and since I had already introduced my 2 accounts and was never requested to do so, I thought it should be automatic, but no it was not. I started to try and went to Google search for help, after no idea available to help me came from settings of @iPad.
Got great help from search, found some instructions that seemed useful and started my ideas4all Gmail synch again, and for the second time it did not work until I realized when in add new account step that you invariably needed to click Exchange in order to be able to do it, quite a non-logical detour, but if you follow instructions at URL below you can do it
And yes lo and behold I got it right like magic my calendar appeared and all my contacts were there as well.
Great Saturday follow up. As you can see the format and image of the contact list are like an address book
And guess how many contacts I had without knowing, 6200 contacts, this was too many, unmanageable. I sort of promised to myself that next holiday, maybe during Christmas, I must do a new cleanup. I did it 4 years back and left them at 3000, the same operation needs to be repeated only that this time I will do it on my iPad.
Note that when editing Contacts on iPad yes the @ sign appears in the alphanumerical keyboard but not on the alphanumerical keyboard for the Notes as mentioned last post of Diary.
3rd Idea for next iPad version explain clearly that you need to use Microsoft exchange if this is the case for everyone and of it not and is related to your calendar system which is needed for which system.

This will be my second post on my diary, as you can see the hiatus between the first and this one is almost 2 months, hence it cannot under the circumstances, announced by the way, be called a diary because it will not be written everyday; therefore its name Incomplete Diary from now on.

During these 2 months my iPad got into the beautiful white box and was opened very seldom; my hectic busy life did not include her in my priorities. I envied some colleagues already mastering it and showing-off how advanced they were with the experience. Notice how I have started calling it, her giving her a more human nature which is how I currently feel our relation feels.
I finally got to crack down iPad this holiday weekend, related to Columbus day, maybe not as coincidental as it may seem, considering it was the same day years back when the New World was discovered,
The easy bit was opening up the Apple store with my credit card the difficult part was understanding you needed an Apple ID number it was confusing due to the specific example @apple.com, I thought you needed one ending email with that @apple.com address, so I believe that a different example could help in order for the user not to waste time trying to get an @amazon.com address.
Didn't understand why one letter of the password has to be a cap letter it is disruptive of my logical mnemotechnic* rule for passwords; I prefer to have them all in lower or all in upper case. I know it will be difficult for me to remember which one of them I chose to be a capital letter.
By the way, need to praise the keyboard the size is perfect. You hardly commit any errors it's great congrats to the designers it is really ergonomic and friendly however there is room for improvement the @ key should also appear in the alphabetic mode you need it frequently and is inconvenient to change to the numerical panel. So this is my second @idea for the next version/s

· Easy to order 1st Twitter, Linked 2nd, FT 3rd, Bloomberg 4th...
· Easy to buy apps first one bought DocstoGo: word, ppt, and excel apps, easy to use and read, easy to download files and edit from Google docs or email, however ppt editing is not possible will have to find one that permits it
· Great to be able to review with high speed late sales contact ideas4all files and customer progress and updated one of the London visits notes on iPad.
· Read all Gmail and ideas emails quickly and comfortably
· Great experience due to good reading formats, images, news with images and the like, it is so wonderfully visual.
I start to understand the Apple unconditional crowd, like my husband, and feel the beginning of my own conversion process.
*mnemotechnic - of or relating to or involved the practice of aiding the memory; "mnemonic device"- (Tesaurus), I include this definition because I do not believe this word is used in English as much as in Spanish

iPad Incomplete Diary August (1)
After meeting with a potential customer for ideas4all, the CEO of BT Spain, end of July, where he was using his ipad at the meeting and taking notes as well as doing other things with it, he tells me he does not use his PC anymore and shows me some apps at the end of the meeting and recommends me highly to get one, I am convinced that very moment, that II will shortly have my own iPad
I got my iPad for my birthday as a present from my sisters, of course it was a suggested present, it was great because they wanted me to like it . But I kept it on it's box, it was like I had some respect for it, maybe scared of it and of the possibility of feeling stupid if it proved complicated to use by me, I had never used a Mac before either, so I felt I needed to be really relaxed and with a couple of hours in front of me to open that beautiful and mysterious box and enjoy the experience. Therefore I took the decision to wait for the right moment, be patient for the epiphany.
I opened my iPAD at my summer house in Asturias around the 15th of August, I do not recall precisely when, but remember very well the sensation, a Wow!, with exclamation followed, everything was close to perfect specially the design. The experience was different from expected, up to then I had been a little indifferent. You might think it is not important but to have the white cable experience vs. a black cable one is a plus somehow it must connect to some brain cells of pleasure.

I also thought to write the ideas I could have for next iPad versions. First one that occurred to me right then, What if we could chose the color of the cabling and the box, from at least 4 choices for instance,; I fancied I could have a green cable and feel different and special when plugging my cable to charge the iPAD to show you and the public my commitment to preserving the environment. Oh I almost forgot to tell you I sat on the green armchair for this iPAD initiation.
